Hornets are on the way to an awesome season

Since our last report, the Rayville Hornets have gone on a scorched earth policy protecting their #2 state power ranking. At General Trass in in Lake Providence it was nothing short of slaughter as the Hornets led 34-10 at the end of he first quarter.
The final score 91-31.
Ten hornets scored led by JaMarkus Wilson with 18 and he didn’t play the fourth quarter. Rashard Naylor with five 3’s, four of them in the first quarter 17. He didn’t play in the second half.
Next to feel the torch was Sterlington 93-36 as thirteen Hornets scored. High scorers were Mylik Wilson and Michael Wilson with 14 points each. The clock was merciful. That was what kept the score so close
The next game score was nothing short of obscene as the Hornets obliterated Ouachita Christian 106-32 and Mylik Wilson did not play but the other thirteen Hornets did and scored. JaMarkus Wilson led the way with 15 followed by JaMicheal Wilson with 12.
The Hornets didn’t show their parish cousins much mercy either beating Mangham 81-39. As with the others it could have been worse.
The Hornets wasted little time in establishing a 19-8 lead in the first quarter by raining down the dreaded three-point bomb; they got five of them. Nashaun Ellis and Ja’Michael Wilson led the way with 14 each.
Competition may be here for as you read this the Hornets will have traveled to play Ferriday the #3 ranked team in the state. Playing on their home court may make a difference. I’ll let you know.
Now if you’re the kind that enjoys mayhem and carnage you need to come to our final two district games with General Trass Feb. 3, and Mangham Feb. 9.
There will be another home game with New Living Word who may give a little resistance on Feb.10.
After that the playoffs and the Hornets will open with a home game. Stay tuned for that date and opponent.
