Hornets drop two games to OCS, Sterlington

The Rayville Hornets are at 6-15 for the season this, following losses to Ouachita Christian and Sterlington.

OCS posted a 15-1 win over Rayville on March 31 while Sterlington won 11-1 on April 6.

OCS took an early lead at 4-0 in the first inning, adding three runs in the second and five in the third and three more in the fourth inning for a total of 15-1 in the fourth inning after Trip Murphy badded in Cody Stansbury to get the Hornets on the board.

The Hornets’ loss to Sterlington was a similar story with Sterlington jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, widening it to 3-1 in the second. They added six unanswered runs in the third inning and two in the fourth to end the game with a 11-1 win.

Michael Hutson, Tripp Murphy, Zach Colvin and Andrew Tarver each managed one hit.

Murphy scored the lone Hornet run on an RBI from Colvin.
