Mangham, Rayville open play at jamborees

The Mangham Dragons and Rayville Hornets both played to tie scores in different jamborees over the weekend.
The Mangham Dragons took on OCS Eagles over the weekend at Bayou Jamb in ULM’s Malone Stadium.
The teams battled their way to a 0-0 tie.
Mangham senior defensive back Brandon Haynes was named as one of the players of the game along with OCS’ Troy Luke Smith.
Mangham’s defensive front controlled most of the game.
Brandon Haynes was responsible for two of eight sacks and recovered one fumble inside the Mangham five-yard line.
Offensively, sophomore Adam Eley ran for 16 yards on three carries, but failed to complete a pass while senior Jimmy Criff also posted a single 16-yard run for the Dragons.
Meanwhile the Rayville Hornets also played to a tie in their jamboree in Grambling over the weekend.
The Hornets tied their game against Northwest with a final score of 12-12.
Quarterback James Powell Jr., dominated the Hornets air attack, hitting Rashad Naylor with two touchdown passes, one for 22 yards and the other for 22.
