He’s Just A Little Boy

He stands at the plate; His heart pounds fast, the bases are loaded and the die has been cast. Mom and Dad can’t help him. He stands alone. A hit at this moment would bring his team home. The ball nears the plate. He swings and misses, There’s a groan from the crowd, some boos and hisses. A thoughtless voice cries “Strike out the bum.” Tears fill his eyes, the game’s lost its fun. So open your heart and give him a break, for it’s moments like this, a man you could make. Please keep in mind and never forget: His just a little boy and not a man yet!

Two of the Davis sister’s stopped by on Friday after being up at the Cemetery, Odie Lee and Betty. It had been quite a while since I last saw them.

Jody and Amber were here from Baton Rouge this weekend. Friday they enjoyed the Rayville homecoming in which Molly Stokes was a senior maid on the court. Saturday took them to West New Home Church where Amber was honored at a baby  shower. There were near 35-40 ladies who came to share in this party. So many nice, cute gifts for the new babies arrival. The refreshment table was out of the world. So many dips, chips, sandwiches, chicken wings, tea, punch and oh goodness so much more. She was very grateful for all her gifts.

Coming by on Monday was Louise Carroll from down on Caney. She come by Colonial Manor and picked her brother Ricky Phillips up to ride him around. They went to the Delhi Cemetery then the McKnight before heading back home. Good to see them.

May these celebrate many happy ones! Anniversary wishes to: Janet and Ralph Cheek, on October 8th, Vivian and Edward Hall (60 years) on October 10th, I wish these many more happy years together!
