Where do we go from here?

 

Fall has made its way thru with a fresh morning breeze.

Time is moving by so fast and Year 2017 will be here in a blink of an eye. I know we living in a time where bad news is happening everyday but behind every cloud there is a rainbow. 

I encourage you to seek God with all your might and pray without ceasing. Our prayers should always include our community, schools, churches, military, pastors, family, friends, enemy, government and most of all lost souls. 

First Baptist of Rayville has its doors open every first Saturday of the month for community prayer and fellowship breakfast. This event is open to any church, organization or person. Oct. 11th is the last day to register to vote. 

Cool Kids will  host a Rock the Vote Registration Drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8. This event will be  Sponsored by Deanna H. Harrison and Erica White. 

Did you know that a person that has completed his/her parole/probation can vote? Stop by your local Registration Office and show your Letter of Clearance and get registered. October is set aside for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Keep your eyes open for different events to enlighten you on the importance of monthly detection. 

My mother Jessie “Redell” Thurman  lost her battle to breast cancer over 20 years now but the hurt of her death is still fresh. She waited too long to seek medical screening.  I encourage you to seek help early and stay informed. 

Pleasant Grove #1 will be hosting its Pink Tea event on Oct. 15. 

New Beginnings Christian Ministry will host its Trunk or Treat at 5 p.m. Oct. 26.

This week my hat goes out to Tender Touch Daycare. The little center that sitting on the side of hwy 80. The owner wanted to find a way for the kids to feel a sense of pride and togetherness and hosted several fundraisers to order uniforms and I am pleased to announce They will be in full uniforms this week. A big thanks to the parents, community and friends that made this dream a reality. 

Please support our local Daycare Centers they play a very important role in our community. 

The Rayville High School band is on the move with Director Gary Lampley .They were presented with second place at the Battle of the Band hosted in Lake Providence on last week. Small band one voice.  Keep up the great work; our kids need this extra curriculur activity in order to stay focus and reach higher goals.
