The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of Aug. 17-25.

• Christopher Jones, 21; 110 Brown St, Rayville; displaying a firearm, theft greater than $300 and less than $500 and resisting arrest by flight

• Stefan Craft, 18; 309 Ray St., Delhi; theft less than $300.

• Saliesia Thornton, 19; 316 Russell St, Rayville; disturbing the peace (general). 

• Ladasia Jackson, 19; 316 Russell St., Apt. 53, Rayville; disturbing the peace (general).

• Tracy Rucker, 22; 226 Russell St., Rayville; disturbing the peace (general). 

• Shonderrius Turner, 21; 826 W. Francis St., Rayville; disturbing the peace (general).

• Shaakirah Phillips, 23; 400 Henderson St., Rayville; driving under suspension.

• Rebecca Gibson, 33; 416 White Perch Lane, Columbia; theft less than $300.

• Austin Smith, 18; 412 Oak St., Rayville; simple possession of marijuana.

• Fredrick Washington, 34; 19 Baker Lane, Rayville; simple battery.

• Kimberly Wilson, 20; 304 Francis St., Rayville; no driver’s license.

• Daniel Wininger, 24; 23 Johnny Walker Road, Rayville; disturbing the peace (general).

• One juvenile was charged with disturbing the peace by loud music.

The Rayville Police Department issued a total of 18 traffic citations this week. That number includes 11 for speeding, two for no driver’s license in possession and one each for no proof of insurance, switched tags, expired motor vehicle inspection, careless operation with an accident and following too close with an accident.

Rayville Police Chief Willie Robinson would like to remind all citizens of Rayville that we as a community must all work together to maintain the peace and safety of our Town.

“It is your responsibility to abide by the laws and ordinances that are in place to govern citizens,” said the chief. “It is my responsibility to deal with criminal activity and/or any behavior that disturbs the peace of Rayville or endangers the citizens.”

Chief Robinson advised that his officers are diligent about listening for loud music, watching for fights, and dealing with all minor incidents that could escalate into something major.
