Columbia Independence Day Celebration scheduled

The Caldwell Chamber of Commerce will host the annual July 4th Independence Day Family and Friends Celebration July 2, 2016 on Main Street in Downtown Columbia.
Beginning at 5:00 p.m. there will be several organizations and businesses gathered together in the 100 block of Main Street with food, games and music. A Patriotic Children's Parade will roll at 6:00 p.m. from the 1st Baptist Church parking lot and continue to the 100 block of Main. Decorate yourselves, wagons, or bicycles to participate. Prizes will be awarded for most patriotic.
Bake your favorite pies and enter them into the Pie Baking Contest. If you would like to enter, please bring 2 pies to the Columbian Coffee Shop by 6:45 p.m. Judging will begin at 7:00 p.m. Prizes will be awarded.
The band “Granny's Cadillac” will perform at 8:15 p.m. until the fireworks begin and then again after the fireworks. The fireworks display will begin at dark and is hosted by the Columbia Main Street Program. Fireworks are being sponsored by Excel Mart, Monroe Welding Supply, Tax Options, Everything Caldwell, The Columbia Port and Parish Pride. Everyone is encouraged to bring your lawn chairs and come out and enjoy the afternoon with family and friends.
