Memorial Day events set in Mangham, Rayville

Memorial Day services will be held in Mangham and Rayville on May 25.

The mayor and chief of police in Mangham will host a Memorial Day service for all veterans, deceased veteran family members and friends at 9 a.m. May 25 at the Community Center in Mangham. 

Everyone is invited to attend.

Rayville’s first annual Memorial Day service will be held from 11 a.m. to noon May 25 at the Rayville Civic Center. 

The event will honor all veterans and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. 

Any relative still residing in Richland Parish who has a loved one in this category is asked to attend this even to honor their relatives.

The Memorial Day event will feature the National Anthem and patriotic music, the pledge of allegiance and the names of Richland Parish patriots with bell note and Taps at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Also, the Rayville Rosenwald/Eula D. Britton Alumni Association  Memorial Day Program “Honoring Heroes” will be held at 6 p.m. May 23 at the Rayville Rosenwald/Eula D. Britton Alumni Center

The event will honor active duty military and veterans. Red roses are for sale for $5 each in honor or in memory of a veteran, deceased love one or friend.  During the program, names will be read and presentation of the roses will be made to family or friends of those being honored and remembered. Veterans and active duty military members are invited as special guests.

This program is a fundraiser for the benefit the preservation of the Rayville Rosenwald/Eula D. Britton Alumni Center.  Please purchase roses and/or make a donation today.
