Two jailed, one sought after Rayville murder

The Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men and is seeking a third in connection with a shooting death last weekend in Rayville.

The Richland Parish Sheriffs Office received a 911 call in reference to shots being fired into a residence on Ruth Street in Rayville at 10:51 p.m. May 6. A short time later, a second 911 call was received in reference to a gunshot victim lying on Linda Street, which is directly behind where the first 911 call was received.

Responding deputies to the Ruth Street address discovered a male resident of the home suffering from a gunshot wound. This person was treated at an area hospital and later released. Responding deputies to the Linda Street area discovered Keric D. Whitfield, 43, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

The Richland Parish Sheriffs Office investigation has led to the arrest of Quincy Hardiman, 24, of Rayville, on charges of one count second degree murder, three counts attempted first degree murder, one count obstruction of justice, one count home invasion and one count criminal conspiracy. Hardiman is being held under a $1.05 million dollar bond at the Richland Parish Detention Center.
Deputies also arrested Joshua J. Chisley, 24, of Monroe, in connection with this case. Chisley was charged with one count second degree murder, three counts attempted first degree murder, one count home invasion and one count criminal conspiracy. Chisley is being held under a $1.1 million bond at the Richland Parish Detention Center.

In addition deputies have secured an arrest warrant for Monteco Kentrell Frost, 21. Frost is currently being sought by local authorities and for one count second degree murder, three counts attempted first degree murder, one count home invasion and one count criminal conspiracy. Frost’s bond is set at $1.05 million dollars.

Richland Parish Sheriff Gary Gilley asks that anyone who knows the whereabouts of Frost please contact the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office at 728-2071. Sheriff Gilley would like to thank the Rayville Police Department and Chief Willie Robinson for their help in this investigation, along with the Ouachita Parish Sheriffs Office and the Monroe Police Department.

Sheriff Gilley stated these two incidents are still under active investigated by the Richland Parish Sheriffs Office and more arrests are to follow.
