Bears fall to OCS Eagles; prepare for Delta Charter

The Delhi Bears are at 0-5 after a loss to Ouachita Christian last Friday night.
The Bears put up a good fight but lost the match 50-60 to the OCS Eagles.
The teams started out with a 14-14 tie at the end of the first quarter, but the Eagles scored 18 points to Delhi’s six in the second quarter. The first half ended with the Bear trailing 20-32.
The Bear played hard in the third quarter, outscoring OCS by 24 points to 22 to close the gap to 54-44. Then in the fourth quarter, both teams scored only six points to end the game with a 60-50 win for OCS.
Both teams made 67 plays with OCS getting 28 first downs to Delhi’s 23.
Both had nine penalties, with them costing Delhi 80 yards to OCS’ 65.
The Eagles kept control of the ball about six minutes longer than the Bears in the incredibly close-fought game.
The Bears will be at home this week, hosting Delta Charter School in a district game. Delta Charter is 3-2 on the season.
Kick off is at 7 p.m. Oct. 6.
