DCS track teams qualify for regionals

Delhi Charter School track teams competed in the District 2-1A Track Meet April 23 at Ouachita Christian School.

A total of 15 athletes are moving on to compete this week at the Region 1-1A for a chance to run at LSU in May. 

In individual events, Alana Sullivan placed third in the triple jump and fourth in the high jump; Latoya Johnson, third in the 100 meters and fourth in the 200 meters; Shalondria Polly, third in long jump; Anna Beth Raley, second in 800 meters; Christian Colvin, first place in the 100 and 200 meters; and Reed McMurry, second in the long jump.

All these individuals move on to regionals, along with boys and girls 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams. Team members include Victor Carroll, Reed McMurry, J’Quan Polly and Christian Colvin in the 4x100 and 200; and Kody Ellis, Cody Smith, Carroll and McMurry in the 4X400. Girls teams include Star Nester, Latoya Johnson, Shalondria Polly and Talanja Gray in the 4x200; and Johnson, Polly, Gray and Sullivan in the 4X100. The 4x400 team was Anna Raley, Isabel Colvin, Eryn Ogden and Joniah Brown. 

Other members scoring valuable points include Claire Corley, fifth  in 1600 and sixth in 3200; Anna Belle Carlson, sixth in 1600 and fifth in 3200; Isabel Colvin, fifth in long jump; Kristen Hendry, fifth in javelin; and Star Nester, sixth in 200. 

The DCS track teams are coached by Bryan Singleton, Harrison Tribble, Charlotte Poland and Sara Senn.
