Hornets beat Vikings; set sights on Dragons

The Rayville Hornets handed the Vidalia Vikings their first loss of the year with a 40-13 victory last Friday night.
The win boosts Rayville to 1-4 on the season while Vidalia falls to 4-1.
The Hornets came out to a 6-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and added 14 more unanswered points in the second quarter, ending the half with a commanding 20-0 lead.
The Vikings put seven points on the board in the third quarter, but Rayville struck back with 14 points, widening their lead to 34-7 going into the fourth quarter. Both teams scored six points in the fourth quarter, leaving the Hornets with a 40-13 victory.
This week, the Hornets will be on the road, facing the Mangham Dragons at 7 p.m. Oct. 6 in Mangham. The Dragons are currently undefeated for the season.
