Mangham Dragons still undefeated at game four

The Mangham Dragons racked up another win Friday night against the Pickering Red Devils.
The Dragons used a blistering 34-13 win to boos them to 3-0 on the season while Pickering is still looking for their first win at 0-3.
“We played well at times versus Pickering, but are still looking or that ‘four quarters’ effort, in all three phases of the game in order to see just how good we can be,” Mangham Head coach Tommy Tharp said. “I was particularly pleased with the play of Austin Twiner and Bradley Cleary at linebacker. They played tough and fast. Our young quarterback, Adam Eley, is coming along nicely and is making very few mistakes in managing our offense. He is doing a great job.”
The Dragons came out to a quick 7-0 lead in the first quarter and widened it to 28-6 by halftime.
They added another six unanswered points in the third quarter for a 34-6 lead and even though the Red Devils picked up a touchdown in the final quarter, the game ended with a 34-13 win for Mangham.
Adam Eley hit three of seven pass attempts for the Dragons for 64 yards and one touchdown.
Joe Colvin caught two of those passes for 41 yards and a touchdown and Tyler Haynes caught the other for 23 yards.

Kevin Poindexter booted in all four extra points.
Mangham will be at home against Delhi Charter at 7 p.m. Sept. 22.
“Delhi Charter presents us with lots of problems,” Tharpe said. “They are as athletic as they have ever been, and the option scheme they run give you fits on defense. Defensively they are an aggressive, man to man team, thatchallenges you to make plays. We will have to play our best to not get embarrassed.”
In addition to Tharp who is in his ninth season as Mangham’s head coach, the Dragon coaching staff consists of assistant coaches Scott Wilcher, Mike Wilson, Eddie Dunn, Wayne Johnson, Jonathon Hoggatt and Scott Parks.
Team managers are Jordan Ulmer, J.T. Smith and Caleb Pleasant.
