Power named healthcare hero

Amanda Whatley Power, MA, LPC-S, NCC was nominated and honored as the Healthcare Hero of the year for 2015 in the category of counselor/therapist on April 30. 

Power works at Rayville Recovery as the program director and at Hope Restored Counseling Center in Monroe. She focuses on substance abuse treatment, family counseling, difficulties with teens and adolescents and works as an interventionist.

Power is the daughter of Henry and Linda Rice of Rayville and the grandaughter of Myrtis Payne of Rayville.

A banquet was held to honor all those nominated. 

In attendance with Power to receive the award were her mother, Linda Payne Whatley Rice, her aunt, Merle Payne Raborn, her husband, Jacob Power, Betty Comanche, counselor at Rayville Recovery, Tanya Brandy, counselor at Rayville Recovery, Jacqueline Hill, Nurse at Rayville Recovery, and Dan Bounds, assistant administrator at Rayville.
