Rayville Police Chief Willie Robinson advised all citizens of Rayville that when you call Rayville Police Department in reference to a complaint or an incident, be prepared to provide as many specific details as possible.

“If you call to report a crime that you witnessed or an incident that concerns you, the officer will ask specific details in order to determine the identity and the culpability of the suspect among other things,” the chief said. “The more details you are able to give, the greater the chance that your complaint can be successfully resolved.”

Chief Robinson would also like to remind motorists of the importance of carrying up-to-date documentation in their vehicles.

“You are legally required to have your driver’s license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance in your vehicle at all time,” the chief said. “In addition, your motor vehicle inspection sticker must also be current.”

Chief advised that failure to do so will result in traffic citations and in some instances may also result in criminal charges.

Chief Robinson encourages all citizens to come by the Rayville Police Department at 900 Harrison St. or to call 728-4431 if you need his help in any way.
