Simmons completes air force training

Air Force Reserve Airman Robert E. Simmons graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Simmons is the son of Janet M. Simmons of Rayville. He is also the brother of Jason S. Neilsen of Delhi and Brandie L. Simmons of Oak Grove, nephew of Susan S. Stutts of Tallulah, La., and cousin of Angelica D. Jackson of Pooler, Ga.

The airman graduated in 2012 from Riverfield Academy, Rayville.
