Philley, Linson win local election
West Carroll voters returned Sheriff Jerry Philley to office for another four years with 68 percent of the vote Saturday. Voters in District 1 elected Julie Linson as school board member in a special election to fill the seat.
Voters gave their majority to Scott Angelle in the governor’s race. David Vitter who is in the runoff as a Republican got the next high and Jon Bell Edwards, Democrat in the runoff polled third.
