Legion post plans barbecue cookoff

The second annual Patriotism Festival and Barbecue Cook Off will be held at 9 a.m. July 11 at Rayville United Methodist Church.
The event is sponsored by American Legion Tommie Cook Post 122.
Competition will be include categories for brisket, pork ribs, pulled pork and chicken. First second and third place winners will be named in each meat category.
In addition, there will be awards for overall grand champion, reserve grand champion, people’s choice and kid’s hamburger patty cookoff.
The entry fee for the competition is $60 and the deadline for entering is July 1.
Checks should be made payable to American Legion Post 122.
