Rayville man charged with woman’s death

A Richland Parish man has been charged with second degree murder in the shooting death of a Rayville woman.

Isaac T. Gee, 23, of Rayville was arrested Aug. 22 in Lincoln Parish on charges of second degree murder. He is suspected of the fatal shooting of LaQuinta Qualls, 24, of Rayville.

Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s  Office public information Officer Glenn Springfield said deputies responded to a reported shooting at a convenience store on Hwy. 546 in West Monroe at 10.32 a.m. Aug 22.

Upon arrival, Qualls was found deceased.  Information from witnesses indicated the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle headed west on I-20 immediately after the incident.  Gee was apprehended a short time later in Lincoln Parish and was arrested. Gee was arrested after a Lincoln Parish deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on the I-20. The suspect abandoned his car and fled on foot near Exit 84 and was arrested following a one-hour chase.

He is currently being held in the Ouachita Parish Detention Center on the charge of second degree murder with bond set at $1 million.
