Workers get to the root of the problem at library

Work on renovating the Richland Parish library is back on track.
“We have gotten to the root of the problem,” library director Amanda Stewart said. “Delays have happened at the Richland Parish Library due to a tree root that had to be taken out and foundation replaced. Since the root incident, everything is progressing well.”
Stewart said the new air conditioning system has been installed and is working great. Some of the new windows have been put in and the rest is soon to come. The library now has lively new colors for patrons to see when they come use it. Most of the ceiling tiles have been installed and are looking good for the lighting to be connected. A little of the flooring has been laid and looks great.
“The reopening will be sometime during the summer, so stay tuned to see when the library will be opening,” she said. “Also when the Rayville branch reopens, new hours will be in effect. Keep looking for news on that front.”
The Mangham branch has closed as of May 7 to get ready for its maintenance work.
“Hope to see you soon at the reopening,” she added.
