Arlond Allen

Services for Arlond Allen, 87, of Columbia was Monday, July 25, 2016 in the Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Burris and Rev. Shelia Whitman officiating. 

Burial was in Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home-Rayville.

Mr. Allen was born on September 19, 1928 in Mangham and passed from this life on July 21, 2016 at his residence on Woolen Lake.

He was a member of Beulah Pentecostal Church on Snake Ridge, avid fisherman, played guitar, spending time with family, and having coffee with his friends at McDonalds in Columbia. He exercised at the community center in Columbia. He was a veteran of World War II.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Huey and Viola Cox Allen; grandmother, Ann Allen; son-Arlond Allen, Jr. and Dean Allen; brothers, J.B. and Billy Ray Allen; and sister, Marie Martin.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years-Dorothy Redding Allen of Columbia; son, Arlond Allen of Ukiah, CA; daughter-Jamie McKnight of Columbia; step son-Richie Redding and wife Sherry of Swartz; two step daughters, Montie Nix and husband John of Swartz and Suzonne Leonard and husband Opie of Calhoun; close friend-Peggy Mitchell; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers were Pete Taylor, Charles Taylor, Alvin McKee, Glen Barnhille, Michael Allen, Brian Redding, and John Nix, Jr. 

Honorary pallbearers were Levi Redding, Gage Redding, Ethan Goately McKnight and Trapper Fleming.
