VERNON ROY DEVILLE

Funeral services for Vernon Roy Deville, 73, of Oklahoma City, Ok formerly of Rayville, were held Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville with Bro. George Deville officiating. Interment was in the McKnight Cemetery, Holly Ridge, LA. Mr. Vernon was born March 30, 1941 in Baskin, LA and passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in Oklahoma City, OK. Mr. Vernon was a member of the Rayville First Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and hunting. He was a veteran  of the U.S. Navy, National Guard, and the Army Reserves.Mr. Vernon is preceded in death by his parents, John and Palestine Deville; brothers, James, Johnny, and Earl Deville; and sisters, Helen Carroll and Hazel  Smith. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Melitta Deville of Oklahoma City, OK; sons, Ray Deville of OK, Ronnie Deville and wife, Josefina of Arlington, TX, and Vernon Deville, Jr. and wife, Teresa of Philippines; daughters, Melitta Morgan and husband, Norman of TN and Sharon Perkins and husband, Tim of MS; 13-grandchildren and 6-great grandchildren; brothers, Bert Deville of Mangham, LA and George Deville and wife, Melba of Jena, LA; sisters, Ruby Sanders of CO and Eunice Clingan of Archibald, LA;and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Ronnie Deville, Joel Mosely, Norman Morgan, Tim Perkins, Dillon Tarver, and Shane Tarver. Condolences may be left at brownholleyfuneralhomes.com.
