Corn Maze Festival helps welcome fall season

The LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden will welcome the fall season with a Corn Maze Festival on Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The day will feature a farm animal petting zoo, pumpkin decorating, hay mountain climb, corn maze, children’s zipline, hayride and a giant slingshot. Concessions will be available for purchase from Friends of the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens volunteers. Admission is $10 per person; children 3 and under are admitted free. Pumpkins for decorating will be on sale for $5.
“What better way for families to end the summer than with a trip to the farm during harvest season,” said Jeff Kuehny, director of the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden.
Later weekends will offer opportunities to attend Corn Maze Saturdays on Oct. 14, 21 and 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Activities will include a hay mountain climb, corn maze, children’s zipline, hayride and a giant slingshot. Concessions will be available for purchase from Friends of the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens volunteers. Admission is $10 per person; children 3 and under are admitted free.
The corn maze will culminate with a Night Maze and Bonfire on Oct. 28 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Visitors can participate in the corn maze, a hay mountain and other nighttime activities. Children and adults are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes and enjoy live music while roasting s’mores at the bonfire. Concessions will be available for purchase from Friends of the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens volunteers. Admission is $10 per person; children 3 and under are admitted free.
Sponsored by the LSU AgCenter and the Friends of the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens, proceeds from the corn maze event supports the educational programs at the Botanic Gardens.
