Caldwell man arrested on second degree murder charges

On Wednesday, May 6, the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office was called over a physical altercation between a man and a woman at 28 Bass Lane, Columbia, LA. When the Sheriff’s Department arrived on the scene Brandy Branch, 35, was found dead. Witnesses reported seeing Eugene Stickle assaulting Branch as she tried to flee from him.  Stickle, 49, was arrested at the scene for Second Degree Murder around 5:45 p.m.

Ms. Branch had no obvious signs as to the cause of death. Her body was sent to Little Rock, AR for an autopsy. The cause of death is pending the results of the autopsy. The area of the crime scene is known as Woolen Lake area.  Bass Lane is off Woolen Lake Road.
