West Carroll Agpilot dies in Monday plane crash

A tragic Monday morning crash of an airplane engaged in spraying farm land claimed the life of a West Carroll man.
Danny Morgan, a pilot with a flying service based in Pioneer, died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The crash occurred just after 9 AM Monday morning near the Macon Front Road North in West Carroll.
A lady who witnessed the incident called the sheriff’s department and reported it, Sheriff Jerry Philley told The Gazette.
He said at that time they did not know who was flying the airplane but that just a few minutes later, Bobby Morgan, owner of the flying service called to alert them that his son was late returning from the job.
The sheriff said FAA officials had been notified and will be in West Carroll to investigate the cause of the crash.
