DHS graduation held for Class of 2015

Delhi High School held its 160th graduation exercises at 7 p.m. May 13.

This year there were 27 graduates of whom 12 were honor students graduating with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. 

The valedictorian, Chrishana Puckett, is the daughter of the late Charlene May and the granddaughter of Mrs. Erma May Gray.  

She entertained the audience and her fellow classmates with a speech focusing on “Looking into the Future.” Chrishana shared her prediction about each of her classmates’ future endeavors. Currently, Chrishana is planning to pursue a degree in nursing at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. 

The salutatorian, Jaterrica Roberts, is the daughter of Mrs. Jene’ Williams and the granddaughter of Mrs. Cynthia Roberts. 

She shared some fond memories of past experiences at Delhi High School in her speech which focused on “Looking Back at Our Class.”  Jaterrica is planning to pursue a degree in medicine from LA Tech University in Ruston, LA.

Nine out of the 27 graduates received TOPS.  Five students received the TOPS Tech Award, two students received the Opportunity TOPS Award and two students received the Performance TOPS Award.    

The grand total of scholarship money awarded to members of the Delhi High School Class of 2015 was $144,309.98.
