Living Garbage Free

Recently I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car pulled right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded and missed the other car by just inches. The driver of the other care whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly.

So I asked, “Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your care and sent us to the hospital!”

This is what my taxi driver taught me what I now call “ The Law of the Garbage Truck.” He explained that may people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they’ll dump it on  you.

He said “Don’t take is personally.” Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on! Don’t take their garbage and spread it to other people at work or at home or on the streets. The bottom line is that stress free people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life’s too short to wake up in the mornings with regrets. So love on the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don’t. Life is 10 percent what you make it and 90 percent how you take it.  Have a Garbage FREE day!!!

We need to praise the Lord for the wonderful much needed rain last Friday. I passed by Mike L fields on my way home that night and I could hear his little beans praising the Lord. It looks as if they have grown 3 or 4 inches. Pretty field of beans.

My Tuesday visits were John and Ellen V. Davis from Mississippi. Had a real good visit with them! Gaynell and Catherine Stokes from down on Caney Lake come over on Thursday. They had an appointment in Monroe and drove on over. Was glad to see them. Sunday afternoon, James and Judy Hough and little Frankie Beth took time out of their busy schedule to stop by. They showed us pictures of their children all together and their grandbabies. Louise was here for coffee and we did enjoy them!

Chelle Rawls and Teen Mosley motored up to Nashville TN. on Friday. Went to the Grand Ole Opry and hearing Vince Gill, then on out to Loretta Lynns Ranch for her concert. They returned home late Sunday but had a great time.

Ralph and Janet Cheek enjoyed having Janet’s brother Gordon and his wife Judy eat dinner with them on Friday night. They were visiting here and with the Colvins at Start before going on to Houston to their daughters, then on to Scandinavia for vacation.  Of course, retired! Must be nice.

Say a prayer. Little Johnny and his family was having Sunday dinner at his Grandmothers house. Everyone was seated around the table as the food was being served. When little Johnny received his plate, he started eating right away. “Johnny, please wait until we say our prayer” His mother said.  “I don’t need to,”the boy replied. “Of course you do his mother insisted. “We always say a prayer before eating at out house..” Johnny explained. “But his is Grandma’s house and she knows how to cook.
