Have a Safe and  Happy 4th of July

Preamble:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure Domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote General Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and Our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

First off, it is time for our 57th class reunion and anyone else who wishes to share in this special day. August 29th, 2015 at 4 until, at the Bethel Church Gym. It will be $12 per person, send your money to Shirley Thompson, 134 Bethel Church, Rd. Rayville, La. 71269. Make plans to attend!

Here recently was Johnny Stanley who I’ve not seen in years. He only lives at Swartz but doesn’t come this way very often. It was really good to see him.

Jack Green stopped in for a few minutes visit on Thursday. He had gone up to visit with Danny Whitstine and no one was home. Maybe next time. We talked about all his “little girls” Sweet, and rotten, Ha!

Here on Friday was Heath Dew and his sons, Dylan and Lane all from Springhill.

Saturday, June 27th, the descendants of Sam and Minnie Mann gathered at Chemin-A-Hault Park, North of Bastrop for a reunion. There were some 40 kinfolks there. Mrs. Myrtis Mann from Ruston and Mrs. Gertrude Mann of Bastrop were the “special little Ladies” there. They had a wonderful time, food and fellowship was great!

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Pero Byrd in the “homegoing” of is dad, Mr. Henry (Bud) Byrd. Mr. Bud was 103 years young, great father, grandfather, and best friends to so many who knew him. May God’s love be with Pero during his great loss.

Ray and Linda Rouse Johnson was by the store last week, ask about lots of their friends and “remember when” Was good to see them!

Happy Birthday this week to: Mrs. Myrtle Bell Toney, Mrs. Willie Gammill, Tom Odom, Mitchell Stokes and Cindy Martenze on July 3rd, Jean Silk, Laurie Jones, A.C. Hewitt, Elizabeth Sharplin on July 4th, Cassie Green Livingston, Jonathan Williams on July 5th, Geneva Williams, Tonya Bagby on July 6th, Kelsey Toney on July 8th. May these celebrate many more.

Anniversary wishes to: Geneva and Arlon Adcox, Phylis and Donnie Moore, Linda and William Cade on July 4th, Cindy and Alvin Bell on July 7th, Lori and Jason McNaughton on July 8th. I wish these many more happy years together!
