Police Report

The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of May 11-17.

• Fredric Cooks, 19; 106 Donna St., Rayville; disturbing the peace (general).

• Charles Williams, 20; 504 Spencer St., Apt. #6, Rayville; simple possession of marijuana.

• Antonio R. Gee, 36; 1039 Killoden Drive, Apt. O, Monroe; no driver’s license.

• Eric Williams, 24; 316 Russell St., Apt. 59, Rayville; simple criminal trespassing.

The Rayville Police Department issued a total of 10 traffic citations this week. That number includes four for speeding, two for careless operation and one each for failure to yield, no seat belt, improper turn with an accident and brake lights (two required).

Rayville Police Chief Willie Robinson advised that his primary objective is to maintain the peace and safety of all citizens and businesses of the Town of Rayville.

“The well-being of this community has been my life’s work for 35 years now,” he said. “Maintaining order here encompasses all aspects of law enforcement -- traffic patrol, crime prevention, and crime scene investigation, to name a few.”

Chief Robinson advised that he and his officers are dedicated to working hand in hand with other community facilities to ensure that Rayville is safe and its citizens can have peace of mind. 

 To this end, Chief Robinson stated that anyone with information about the commission of crimes should contact the appropriate law enforcement agency.
