Rayville native joins staff at hospital

Dr. Darrell C. Rubin has joined the medical staff of Somerset Hospital in Somerset, Penn.

He attended Holly Ridge Elementary School and Rayville High School in Richland Parish and graduated from the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts in Natchitoches.

Dr. Rubin earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans, graduating Summa cum Laude. He earned his Ph.D. in Pathology and Doctorate of Medicine from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

After completing his internship and residency at Case Western Medical Center in Cleveland Ohio, Dr. Rubin completed both a cardiology fellowship and clinical cardiac electrophysiology research fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. He also holds certification from the National Board of Echocardiography.

Dr. Rubin is the son of Anita Rubin and the late Leo Rubin of Holly Ridge and the grandson of Barbara Mansfield of Bastrop.
