Alfred Duchesne

Funeral services for Alfred Duchesne, age 83, of Mangham were held Sunday July 19, 2015 from the sanctuary of Welcome Home Baptist Church at Hebert with Rev. Jim McKeithen officiating.

Donald Oliveaux delivered the eulogy. Burial was be at Hebert Cemetery.

Samuel Alfred Duchesne was born on April 24, 1932 at Hebert, LA to the union of his parents Samuel Alfred Duchesne, Sr and Betty Mae Bowden Duchesne. He passed from this life on Thursday July 16, 2015 at his residence following a sudden illness. Mr. Duchesne was a Veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of the Welcome Home Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents, his wife:Lillie Ann Roy Duchesne, his son: Michael Todd Duchesne, two daughters: Tina Pounders and Cheryl Duchesne, and a brother: Ray Duchesne. 

Left to cherish his memory: three sons: Sambo Duchesne (Becky) of Hebert, Barry Duchesne (Tammy) of Mangham, and Peter Duchesne (Kristie) of San Antonio; four daughters: Sonja Cotton (Jimmy) of Hebert, Deborah Creech (John) of Hebert, Barbara Knight (Jeff) of Monroe and Connie Wallace (Randy) of Mangham; two brothers: Johnny C. Duchesne of Mangham and Vernon Duchesne of Hebert; three sisters: Betty Joe Fife of Oklahoma City, OK, Jerry Womack of Hebert, and Nancy Taylor of La Porte, Texas; sixteen grandchildren and twenty four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers include Andy Gilbert, Jimmy Cotton, Jr., Todd Duchesne, Alex Duchesne, Bully Duchesne, and Bully Hines.

In lieu of flowers any planned memorials may be made to the Welcome Home Baptist Church, Columbia, LA.
