Spurlock graduates basic training

Airman 1st Class Joseph S. Spurlock graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Spurlock is the husband of Kristen Spurlock. He is also the son of Connie Stokes of Rayville and Scott Spurlock of Robertsdale, Ala., step-son of Wilmer Wiggins of Collinsville, Miss., brother of Henry Turner and Kristina Turner of Carthage, Miss., and grandson of Earline Wiggins of Collinsville, Miss.

The airman graduated in 2012 from Russell Christian Academy, Meridian, Miss.
