Jump Start Program begins in Oak Grove

Delta Work Ready Academy is ready to debut a Jump Start Program funded by a $150,000 DRA grant.
The debut will take place May 27 at 10 AM at 410 Willis Street, Oak Grove, and will include local and state dignitaries, media representatives, Delta Work Force officials and West Carroll School Board representatives.
Superintendent Richard Strong is very enthusiastic about preparing students to be productive citizens and creating a business friendly environment.
Delta Work Force Academy is partnering with the West Carroll School Board to prepare 30 students for the workforce. Initial courses offered during a six-week summer institute will be C4M (certification for manufacturing) and OSHA 10 (students obtain an official OSHA 10 hour card, valid for a lifetime).
Students who attend will receive a stipend of attending classes and successfully completing the course.
