St. Joseph man arrested for drug possession, paraphernalia, weapons

A St. Joseph man has been arrested on drug charges by the state police.
This spring, Louisiana State Police Narcotics Agents initiated an investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics in Ouachita Parish..
The subject of the investigation is 21-year-old Joshua Sikes. Sikes is a college student in Monroe whose hometown is St. Joseph.
On June 23, a search warrant was conducted at Sikes’ residence in Monroe. As a result of the search warrant, distribution amounts of marijuana, Clonazepam, 13 weapons, and drug paraphernalia were located inside the residence.
Troopers arrested Sikes for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, illegal carrying of a firearm, possession of Schedule IV narcotics, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sikes was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center without incident.
