Henry V. Byrd

Henry “Bud” Byrd, 103, of Delhi, died on Wednesday, June 24, 2015.

Funeral Services were Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home, Delhi.

Burial followed in the Newton Community Cemetery

Mr. Byrd was a retired carpenter and concrete finisher.  He had also been a game warden and fireman.  Bud was a former member of the Masonic Lodge and a longtime member of Newton Baptist Church.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Byrd and Ella Harris Byrd; his loving wife Myrtle Patty Byrd; and four siblings, I. C. Byrd, Sylvia York, Dorothy Antley, Minnie Byrd, and Laura May Donahue.

He is survived by his Son, Leon, “Pero” Byrd of Delhi, grandchildren Rena McPherson Solesbee(Ben) of Landrum, SC, Amanda Thompson and Rebecca Burdette(Chad); five great grandchildren Olivia McPherson Elmore(Chance), Elizabeth, Peyton, Gabrielle and Ryan and a soon to be Great Great Grandson Caleb Elmore.

Interment was at Newton Cemetery near Delhi, under the direction of Cox Funeral Home, Delhi.
