Jessie Meeks

Jessie Meeks, 62, born September 6, 1954, passed away on July 30, 2017, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Memory Chapel in Laurel, MS with visitation prior to the service at 5 p.m. Rev. Mike Allen and Rev. John Howard will officiate.
Jessie was the president of United Way in Tupelo, a deacon at First Baptist Tupelo, and lettered as student athletic trainer at Ole Miss. He held a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Master Degree in Combined Sciences. He was also a lifetime member of the Professional Society of Human Resources. Jessie was employed with Georgia Pacific in Taylorsville, MS as the Human Resource Manager.
Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, Archie W. Meeks and Velma Swarner Meeks.
He leaves behind his wife, Diana Dalton Meeks; three sons, Tommy Flynn (Savannah), Michael Flynn (Marcela), and Charlie Flynn (Ros); three daughters, Meredith Meeks Veltri (Steven), Mallory Meeks DeLucas (Matthew), and Courtney Keller Cruse (Zach); brother, Jimmy Meeks (Jenny); two sisters, Shawna Stockton and Mary Evelyn Howard (John); and five grandchildren, Grace Anne DeLucas, Stella Smith Veltri, Julian Flynn, Charlie Flynn, and Sophia Flynn.
