Holly Ridge Happenings

Leftovers

I went to the refrigerator; It was almost bare.

Almost, but not quite!

Leftovers were in there!

Got them out, warmed them up;

My, they tasted mighty good!

Leaned back in my chair, satisfied;

Then to my feet, I stood.

Looked at my plate

and began to think;

Picked up my water glass and took another drink.

Then I looked toward Heaven and began to pray

My heart so filled with thanks.

I didn’t know what to say.

Leftovers have a message

We all can understand;

They can more than enough

Has come from God’s Hand.

Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our Salvation. Selah. Psalm 68:29

Sue Cobb from Lafayette was here over the weekend with Jerry and Diane Cobb. Sue was here to attend her 50th class reunion. The home of Lloyd Swain in Oak Ridge was buzzing on Saturday when classmates arrived for their 50th class (1965) reunion. There was about forty “students” who enjoyed this outing. Grilled burgers, hotdogs, chips, dip, drinks, fruit trays and vegetable tray and a lot of love for all to have. This reunion was a great big success and I know that one came as far as Florida for the day. Maybe more next week!

Coming by here from the gathering was Jerry and Jean Warren Melton, Mary Perry and Della King. Was so good to see them again.

Mrs. Mary Russell called so I would put her appreciation to Sheriff Lee Harrell, Triad and everyone who helped with the great day, good food at the Senior Day at the lake on Poverty Point last Friday. She also wanted to thank the Veterans Crawfish Boil at the C.O.A. They love them some “mud bugs” also thanks to Beth Watley for her participation in making this event a great one!

Remember: Only God can turn a mess into a message, a test into a testimony, a trial in a triumph, a victim into a victory!
