A little girl was sitting on her grandfather’s lap as he was reading her a bedtime story. From time to time, she would take her eyes of the book and reach up to touch his wrinkled cheek. She was alternately stroking her own cheek, then his again.

Finally she spoke up “Grandpa, did God make you.?

“Yes sweetheart,” he answered “God made me a long, long time ago.”

She replied, “Did God make me too?”

He answered, “Yes, indeed, honey, God made you just a little while ago.”

Feeling their faces, she said, “God’s getting better at it, isn’t he?”

I’ve had another little stay in St. Francis. My “little” heart just don’t want to do right or may be it’s just me, want do what they say do, Ha! Dan and Carol Little from West Monroe stopped by on Saturday for a visit and I wasn’t here. I always hate when I miss someone stopping by.  James Ivy Livingston and his little wife from Haughton stopped by on Sunday after attending the services at the Richland Pentecostal Church for Mrs. Darline Allen. She was a Saintly lady and will certainly be missed. Kelsie and Kera come up from Layfayette for the week and when I was in the hospital. Always hate to see her go back, but that’s her “home-away” now. Tyler and Ashley cheek, Carter and Aiden Motored down to Gulfshores on Sunday fro a few “get-away days” I know the boys are having a very good time! Sure do miss them. Ronald Reagan once said “I believe with all my hear that standing up for America  means standing up for the God who has so blessed our land. God bless America, My Home Sweet Home!

She will surely be missed because she was a “trooper” always there when she was needed. I miss her on our pages in the Beacon. May Gods love help them through this time as only He can.

Have a great 4th of July and call with your news.
