When I woke up this morning. I asked myself what are some of the secrets of success in life? I found the answer right there in my room! The fan said “be cool.” The roof said “Aim High.” The window said “See the world.” The clock said “Every minute is precious.” The mirror said “Reflect before you act.” The door said “Push hard for your goals.” And don’t forget, the carpet said “Kneel down and pray.”
Visiting with Mrs. Opal Jones last week was a friend, Dawn Woodgott from Waxahachie Texas. Opal brought her by for ice cream while she was here.
Louise Cater enjoyed yet another trip to New Orleans with the La. Farm Bureau. Was a hot trip but enjoyable.
Aunt Lannie Thompson carried Ellie Jo to Tyler Texas last week for a couple of days with her Aunt Sherry. Sherry had sold her home so they went for a last visit there. I think Ellie Jo enjoyed the swimming pool most of all.
Vanessa has been on Vacation for two weeks. Enjoying every minute of it. First week she and Richard Motored up to Illinois for several days where Richard had a “bow hunt” competition.
Then she went to Shreveport for a day to visit her friend, Ava Broadway, who once worked at the bank with her. Friday she and Richard, Lottie and Matt traveled down to south Louisiana to Lotties camp where they enjoyed a weekend of fishing.
Yes, this morning she come by on her way back to work. She vacationed long enough, it was time to get back to work.
Joseph Terrobine and Regina entertained their family on Sunday with a family reunion. Food, fun, folks and more. Fireworks come at sundown, lots of them.
Doug and Nellie Thompson come over on Sunday for a brief vist, better than non at all. Nellie has been so sick so it was good to see her out and about!
L.J. and Angela Ingram had their 4th of July celebration on Saturday at thier home across the road from us.
There were lots of family and friends there. She fixed and sent me and Tommy a large plate of food and it certainly was tasty good barbecue.
Our get well wishes and speedy recovery to Beck Herrington who fell last week breaking her ankle. Hopefully she will heal quickly.
