Holly Ridge Happenings

The mind of man has been compared to a white sheet of paper. Whatever we write upon the writing material and every drop of ink that falls upon it makes a permanent mark. This mark cannot be rubbed out without much injury to the paper. Even while the ink may be somewhat fresh, it cannot be eliminated. Sometimes a bigger mess is made while attempting to remove the spot. Every ink speck embed itself into the paper. If we even try to scratch it out, the next letters which we write on the spot are blurred. Likewise, every sin, however small we may deem it, affects our lives. Therefore, it is of vast importance that we should be very careful of what we “write” on out lives. Sin will harm all who allow its life-altering marks to soil themselves. This is why we are to separate ourselves from it and to avoid it at all costs.
Ralph Powell has just returned from a week’s vacation out in Las Vegas with his son, David, and family. Now he wants to go to West Yellowstone. You go Ralph!
My great grandson, Carter Cheek, was chosen Star Student in Fourth Grade at Start School. My other little one didn’t get star student. Ha! But he fell and broke his little leg. He will be out of commission for a while.
Doug and Nellie were here on Wednesday for a most welcome visit. Also coming by was Allen and Joan Nicholson Futch from Calhoun and David and Debbie Massey from Bastrop. James and Judy Hough was also here to see me. You know, that helps me a lot!
Happy Birthday this week to: Linda Mayhall on February 16th, Janna Clack, Larry Dew and my greatgrandson, Carter Cheek (10 years) on February 17th, K.D. McKinney, Mrs. Daisy Neathery (out in Alabama) on Febuary 18th, Patrica Cheek on February 19th, my niece Rebeca Rawls, Margie Thompson, Caroline Carter, Randy Martinez and Ava Leigh Williams on Febraury 20th, Chase Caston, Sonya Nettles on February 21st, Leo Lyle, Jr, Awidni Thomas on February 22nd. I wish these many more happy ones!
