Outlook

Hello, hello, here I come again to write another Outlook column for you special readers who say they enjoy reading my efforts each week.

I do hope this finds all of you folks doing well and able to tend to what ever business you may have or need to look after somehow.

I suppose I might as well mention the weather since that is always a concern for most of us as we plan what ever tasks we need to take care of each day.   I know I am not going to plan to get out and clean up my yard if there seems to be a cloud coming up and threatening rain.  I will just wait a day or two on that effort and it will still be there waiting for me when I do tackle it.  Oh, yes...........

As you have surely observed, we are now moving into the latter half of this month of May and we still have one more full week after this one.  And, so far the weather has not been so terribly hot; but, I know June, July and August are going to bring on some extra heat.  That’s when the air conditioners are so welcome.  Since I grew up on that farm out in southeast Arkansas where we had no air conditioning (not even electricity) I know about hot summer weather.  But, we all lived through it and now I do appreciate having air conditioning when I need it.  Oh, yes, indeed.......

My son, Kirby and his wife, Linda, have just returned from a trip to Colorado where they visited their son, Kevin, who lives and works in Denver.  They spent about a week there and enjoyed their time together as a family.   I haven’t seen Kevin in quite a while; but, he is a sweet boy and I love him dearly as I do all of my grandchildren.  I am happy when I know all of them are well and able to go about their regular routine.

CHUCKLE #1 - The former patient called upon the doctor.  “Remember me, Doc?”  he asked.  “You cured my rheumatism about a year ago, and you told me to be careful about getting myself wet.’’

“Yes, I recall you,” said the doctor.  “What can I do for you now?”

“Oh, nothing right now, Doc,” replied the man.  “I just wanted to know if it’s safe for me to take a bath yet?”

So, we move on a bit further and look at the calendar to see what is coming up next.  I try to be aware of events at least a few days before they are scheduled to happen.  That gives me time to make some preparation for whatever is coming up. But, once in a while, I do let something kind of slip up on me.  So, i try a little harder......

June, July and August - those are our main summer months and probably our hottest ones also.  And, I have just about written enough for this time, so I will close out by wishing all of you folks a spell of good health and happiness during these summer months.  And, I hope to meet all of you dear readers next week through this column, so let’s look forward to that.  Oh, yes indeed......

CHUCKLE #2 - The two men had not met  for many years and they had much to talk about.  “And tell me,” said one, “is your wife still as beautiful as ever?”

“Oh, yes,” replied the other, “only it takes her a lot longer now.”  ????                                                                        Folks are still having birthdays and I have a few to list for this week and they are as follows:  Katherine Colvin, Jackie King and Paige Danna on 5/21; Glen Bryan, Tim Colvin, Michael Siscoe, Terri Wade and Danny Donald on 5/22; Megan Goddard on 5/23 and Wanda Combest on 5/24; Lisa Folds and Gwen King on 5/25; Emily Hardy on 5/26; David Thames, Anna Weston,  Kathleen Bozeman and Beth Taylor on 5/27.  May all of these folks enjoy celebrating their birthday in a special way and we wish them many more “Happy Birthdays” in the years ahead.  Oh, yes, indeed.......

And, that will just about bring another Outlook effort to a close for one more week.  May we all enjoy living each day as it comes and making the most of it in a way that is pleasing.  Oh, yes.......
